Happy New Year!
1st up - a bit of fun thanks to Betty Bailey and a number of club members who attended our Sock Hop at the La Pasada in Winslow. I call it "Fun With Spoons" you may want to turn your sound up - note this is a streaming Flash file that may be a problem if you have a dial up connection. I have been playing with Flash movies to see if they add a bit of entertainment to the website. I would appreciate any and all comments about what you think of adding this capability.
Thanks to Fred Elston for contributing some photos of the members who camped out at the 2008 Goodguys SW Nationals - Fred named these photos - Trailer Trash.
Next up was the annual Toys-4-Tots run submitted by Dee & Ken.
For Christmas this year the club voted to help out Santa in providing toys for a family with eight kids that were looking at an otherwise bleak holiday. Dee and Nick provided us with an excellent write up and photo coverage which can be found here!
And finally coverage provided by Dee of our Annual Christmas Party, which looked like a lot of fun... Sorry we missed it.
In that it is New Years and a time to remember, I will leave you with a photo taken in 1971 of a desert racer up on the pipe! Anyone have an idea as to who it might be?
The Club Roster
I was able to catch some of our new members and update a few of the older ones at Goodguys. We still have a lot of out of date photos! I hope we can schedule a picture day like we did a few years back to try and get everyone up to date...

The Virtual Garage
Several members who are/were in the process of building or modifing their cars have sent us photos and narratives of their work. I have recieved a lot of very favorable feedback from many of our readers so keep it up! If you or a club member that you know have a project starting or underway, please contact me and I will give you the instructions on how to access and use our internet drop box so you can share your work with everyone who logs into our site!
A word about photos...
If you have photos or an article or anything that you feel the club might be interested in please send it to my email address. When you send me photos it would help if you sent me copies of the original JPEG files from your camera. I need a minimum resolution of 720 x 480 pixels. No problem if your images are larger (almost all are), I can easily reduce them down to the size that I need. And, if it is not too much to ask, please turn off the time stamp feature on your camera that puts the date and time on each of the photos.
Also, please make sure that you let me know who took the photos so that I can give the proper accreditation for them! I have set up a drop box on the webserver so that you can easily get material to me without worrying about email size limits. If you wish to use it, contact me for details on how to log on and upload your files.
