An early November morning 2005…
The day dawned with startling clarity, as the sun broke through the thin cloud layer exposing the blue sky. Dust was barely visible in the near distance rising from the streets into the sky. The dust cloud grew nearer, and nearer; suddenly the roar of the finely tuned motors could be heard. Chills went running down our backs, our eyes and ears straining for more vision or sound from the pack. They were near now, then…There, suddenly emerging from the heat waves off the pavement they came, scores of them. Every color of the rainbow and some never seen in a rainbow, or seen anywhere ever before. The Street Rods, Customs and Classics had descended upon West World seeking days of fun and sun! The yellow shirted crew trembled, awaited eagerly…Another Good-Guy National event had begun!!!
And so it goes another successful Good-Guy event goes down and written into the yearly history books. We did a great job, over came the changes, and scrambled to compensate for the uncompleted plans and instant schedule changes. Bring it on…were up to it!
But then it was Monday, a whole different story; getting out of bed wasn’t that easy, getting the legs under me, a little difficult, bending over for my shoes…not happening!
Man was I stiff and sore and just worn down, tired and sunburned…
Whaa-Hooo; I had fun!
How about you? Thanks for being there, and creating another chapter of the legend!

The Goodguys Rod & Custom Association, founded in 1983, is the nation's leader in producing and promoting automotive enthusiast events. Goodguys has over 70,000 members worldwide and holds 22 annual events across the country from New York to Florida, from San Diego to Seattle and all points in between. Since 1997, the Goodguys have held their Southwest Nationals at Westworld of Scottsdale.
From the very first Southwest Nationals, the Over The Hill Gang Phoenix Chapter, as the host club, has enjoyed a fun-filled, good-time relationship with the Goodguys organization.

It’s been a great relationship; the Goodguys staff have always treated our club members with respect, and listened to our feedback on the show issues. We have created a position within our chapter; "Goodguys liaison" - that person is responsible to organize and manage the work teams and to communicate to the teams what's needed during the show.
With all your help as participants and Goodguys members, we can develop the Scottsdale show even further as THE premier Arizona event. If you are not a Goodguys member…Join Now and get in on the good-times!
